The BH365 team will engage participants with instructional resources and practices that address the education gap in America by providing students a voice and a choice while they engage with text that reflects their images.

On Day 1...

We kickoff with our CEO Dr. Milton in a day full of interactive, engaging topics. We focus on strategies that create learning environments where Black history instruction can flourish. The lunch buffet will prepare attendees for an afternoon of continued learning. That evening, we end with a reception where attendees can engage with the authors and BH365 team.

On Day 2...

We continue a full day of interactive, engaging topics designed to build district and school cultures to support Black history implementation. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch at the Toyota Music Factory located within walking distance of the conference hotel.  The day ends with a session led by Dr. Milton who will celebrate our collective journey and discuss next steps.

JUST ADDED TO THE CONFERENCE AGENDA...

  • The Student Voice Panel where we will hear from Brooklyn North High School students
  • Why Black History? A Leader-to-Leader session that will comprise of an expert panel of superintendents and a school board member who led the way to ensure students had access to the BH365 curriculum
  • During the reception, all BH365 partner districts will be recognized for their commitment to providing students with access to an inclusive account of American history. Additionally, a District and a District leader will receive special honors for their extraordinary implementation efforts.

  • Using The BH365 Album to teach the lessons


  • Creating Escape Rooms to Assess Learning


  • Strategies to support Pre-reading and Comprehension in 3-8 grades 


  • Activities to support Pre-reading, sight-words and comprehension with the Kindergarten Collection



Leaders will learn:


  • Instructional approaches to support BH365 implementation fidelity


  • Problem-solving strategies to enhance effective implementation of the curriculum


  • Promising Practices from leaders in the field to support implementation



In education, we often think about educating the whole child, but we often miss the mark with educating and training the whole adult. These sessions will change that:


  • From Cultural Competence to  Cultural Humility 


  • Make Shift Happen

As part of the conference registration, participants will receive access to the eBook of their choice, a BH365 Activity Book, and a conference bag with a host of BH365 swag. Items will be provided onsite when badges are collected.
